'All natural makeup' is just a term that can be used by anybody for anything.
It can mean your makeup is partly or fully made from ingredients that are straight from the earth.
It can an also mean, that someone just wants you to buy their product, so they called it 'natural'.
It would be nice if the outside label would describe exactly what you'll find on the inside.
Or if it was clearer what all these words- like 'natural' and 'organic' really mean. The reality though, is that the world of words and beauty product labels is a murky one...
So the first myth we've covered, is that 'natural' actually means something... Here are some more...
At first glance, this makes sense. But when you really think about it, there are flowers and minerals that can be extracted from the earth, but touch 'em and you die! Like those pretty, brightly colored poisonous frogs...
They're natural...
Touch them, and you'll die...

The ingredient list is where all the information is. Check your product or the ingredients on the skin deep database or on goodguide.com. These have a huge collection of products tested for safety.
Better for your skin, and better for nature. Yet makeup from natural substances often doesn't perform as well as those with some level of synthetic ingredients.
These are ingredients like silicones that make the makeup look and feel smoother on your skin, and also have skin specific properties.
However, more companies are trying to make their natural products workable, so keep watching this space...
Mineral makeup is made up of minerals, just like regular makeup, including synthesized minerals. So even though they're minerals, they're not just crushed versions of some pure rocks...
Ingredients like zinc oxide and titanium oxide are examples of synthesized and derived minerals that are processed in the lab.
But even though mineral makeup is not natural, it doesn't have a lot of the baddies that cause your skin to react...
Hopefully, we see more companies movies toward providing actual, safe, Eco friendly, natural makeup , and finding alternative ingredients for anything that has an adverse effect on skin..
Otherwise, the point of researching and creating new concoctions is to improve different functions. Technology is not all bad, as long as it's safe.
